Messerschmitt Bf109
The standard German fighter plane of WW2. It can serve various roles from fighter to attack plane. The Bf109 is the backbone of most German air operations, with good maneuverability, semi decent armament, a short turning radius and enough speed to battle Allied fighters at the cost of weaker armour. Overall, a good plane that is easy too handle but vulnerable when fighting later allied fighters, especially on the western front. Don‘t overestimate it‘s abilities and beware of it‘s flaws.

Messerschmitt Bf110
The Bf110 was first designed as heavy fighter but suffered great losses in the Battle of Britain. It is too slow and not very maneuverable in comparison to the British Hurricane or Spitfire. Very useful in early war battles in order to assist your ground troops with air support and attack allied convoys/tanks with your bombs. It‘s a little sluggish in comparison to the BF109 but a skilled pilot won‘t find too many problems.

Focke Wulf Fw190
The Fw190 is a threat for every allied aircraft up there. Its speed is above average, it has a small turning radius and an armament that outclasses most of the allied fighters. Talking about armament, this is the biggest advantage of the Fw190. Two MGs and four cannons can destroy allied fighters, bombers, apcs and even light tanks pretty fast. The Fw190 is said to be one the best German fighters in circulation. You can use it as interceptor, ground attack plane and light bomber, depending on the weapon loadout.

Messerschmitt Me262
The Me262 is a flying legend. As a fighter, it is second to none when it comes to speed and the rate it gains altitude. Its main usage is dropping from altitude firing it‘s 30mm cannons. Only very good allied pilots should try to battle this masterpiece of German engineering, and trust on the better maneuverability of their Mustangs or P38s against the poor turning radius of the Me262.

A late war German interceptor, that is very challenging to fly. You should try to use the high speed capabilites to your advantage when attacking enemy planes. Upon descent, the Me162 is able to reach 900 km/h and more. Allied fighters shouldn‘t be much of a threat for a Me162 pilot. However the complex controls could prove tricky for even the best of pilots.

Only placed on one map, the fictional battle, „Alpenfestung“, this is a concept plane of the German Luftwaffe that was ready for mass production near the end of the war. Its the ancestor of modern aircraft like the B2 Spirit and other „flying wings“. Good armament (4x30mm cannons), high speed and possessing good maneuverability. The pilot should, like in a Me262 or a Komet, have fast reactions. Otherwise the flight with a Go229 will easily become a disaster for unexperienced pilots.

Junkers Ju87 "Stuka"
The well known Ju87 Stuka Bomber is a very valuable addition to your air forces when used correctly. Avoid dogfights with Allied fighters at all costs, as the Stuka is clumbsy and the rear gunner is of little help. Dive bombing is the most succesful tactic. Stay high, find a target, dive, release the bomb and pull up to clear the blast. The JU87 can be equipped with devastating cannons or bombs.

Junkers Ju88
The Ju88 is a medium bomber with good speed and maneuverability. It carries
less bombs than the He111 and has a weaker defensive armament. When faced with fighters, try to escape by diving away from them at high speed, using evasive maneuvers. The Ju88 can be used in various roles: Strategic Bomber, Torpedo Bomber, Support Aircraft and even dive bomber.The defensive guns are so weak, that gunners have little chance against fighters.

Heinkel He111
The He111 is the „work horse“ of the German Luftwaffe. It is the most common bomber and an overall good design. It has a medium bombload and can take quite a beating from enemy fighers. It is slow and difficult to fly and the defensive gunners have a tough job when trying to hit fighters. Therefore it‘s a good idea to know where friendly flak is incase you get a tail, you can‘t shake.

Arado Ar234 “Blitz”
The Ar234 was the very first jet engine bomber. Extremely fast, it can be a huge threat to Allied ground force. It carries two 1000 kg bombs, which can devastate infatry and tanks over a wide area. Two backward firing defensive cannons are included, which provide minimal support against fighters. The major drawback with this plane is its own high speeds. Only the best pilots should take to the controls of this plane.

Arado Ar196
As recon aircraft on German Battleships and heavy naval vessels, the Ar196 serves as a Spotter plane for the long range artillery weapons of the Tirpitz and the Prinz Eugen. Due to its floaters it sacrifices quite a lot of maneuverability and speed for the ability to land on water. Spotting enemy naval vessels and defending the mothership by taking out attacking Torpedo Bombers are the main objectives for an Arado Pilot.
